As an educator, I believe that children should learn about the Holocaust and the impact it has on the world. This year the sixth-eighth graders participated in The Butterfly Project. The goal of the project is to have 1.5 million butterflies painted to represent the number of children that were killed in the Holocaust. Each student painted a butterfly in remembrance of one child that was killed. This display only represent a small portion of the population that lost their lives.
